Shift is an upscale co-housing community development where residents can live, work, and play. The Marvel Citizen agency engaged Burn Mantra to concept the lobby entrance and 4th-floor workspace for an interior proposal.

Key focal areas rely heavily on nature for inspiration. At lobby level, the welcome desk becomes a metaphor for river and rock with stacked and separated undulating strips of bent birch wood. The same approach was taken upstairs in the central meeting area, as wood planks are formed and positioned to become an acoustic cocoon defining the room. The functionality of these common areas combines a workspace, coffee shop, and lounge to optimize tenant use and encourage interaction.
